Registered Veterinary Technicians


  Susan Tameling, R.V.T.

Susan has been an employee of Wake Forest Animal Hospital since 1991. She graduated from SUNY in 1986 with a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She is one of three registered Veterinary Technicians at Wake Forest Animal Hosptial. She is originally from Long Island, NY, and currently lives in Wake Forest with her husband Tommy and two children Jenna and Erik, and two dogs.



  Ashley Blackley, R.V.T.

Ashley has been an employee of Wake Forest Animal Hospital since June 1996. She is originally from Wake Forest. She attended CCCC and has a degree in Veterinary Medical Technology. She is one of three registered Veterinary Technicians at Wake Forest Animal Hospital. Ashley lives with her husband three dogs, Cleatus, Gertie and Mojo.



  Karen Weiss, R.V.T.

Karen has been an employee of  Wake Forest Animal Hospital since September 2006. She is originally from Brooklyn, NY. She has been working in the veterinary field for over 7 years, has a B.A. from Meredith College and an A.A.S in Veterinary Technology from Cedar Valley College. Karen and her husband Jeff, live in Youngsville with their four dogs, five cats, and three horses.


Office Manager


  Theresa Jones

Theresa has been the hospital manager of Wake Forest Animal Hospital since May 2008. She has a BA in German and Linguistics from Iowa State University. She has over 5 years of hospital management experience. Theresa currently lives in Wake Forest with her daughter Amanda and three dogs, Rosie, Molly, and Bo.


Groomers


  Debbora Schweers

Deb offers over 35 years experience in animal grooming and training, and has been a groomer with Wake Forest Animal Hospital since 1997. She started grooming very young helping her grandparents with their show poodles. After school she worked in pet shops, boarding kennels and grooming parlors until she opened her own shop "Deb's Poodle Parlor" in 1986 located in the Ghent community of Norfolk, VA. Debbora followed her husband to Raleigh in 1996. Debbora actively competes in dog obedience, agility, and herding trials; she also teaches dog obedience and agility. On weekends she often travels showing her Border Collies, MACH Bobbie Jo UD and Billie Jo MX MXJ.
Deb lives on a small farm in Castalia, with her husband Kevin, and pets that include her third dog Betty, chickens, sheep, and a calf.



  Jan Ewing

Jan has been grooming dogs since 1991, and has been grooming at Wake Forest Animal Hospital since 2005. Her favorite dogs to groom are Yorkies, Bichons and Shih Tzus, but she likes all breeds. Jan is originally from Michigan and is a huge hockey fan. In addition to grooming Jan spends her time pet sitting and reading mystery novels. Jan currently lives in Youngsville with her Jack Russell, Yoyo.


Hospital Staff


  Jackie Rinker

Jackie has been an employee of  Wake Forest Animal Hospital since June 2004.  She currently lives in Franklinton with her husband Nathan, her daughter Peyton, two dogs, Oakley and Bailey and, cat Squirt.



  Sara Barr

Sara has been employed as a receptionist at Wake Forest Animal Hospital since January 2011.  She has worked in the vet field for approximately three years. She decided to pursue a career in the vet field due to her love and compassion towards animals. She enjoys her daily interaction with both clients and their beloved, furry family members.

Sara has two very sweet and lovable Shih Tzu's, Bandit and Ellie, along with six amazing cats that she has rescued.



  Shirley Davis

Shirley has worked as a veterinary receptionist since 1992 and began employment at Wake Forest Animal Hospital in April 2007. She is an advocate for providing great client education and customer service. The favorite part of her job is listening to the interesting and amusing stories that clients tell about the love they have for their special furry friends. Before pursuing her passion for animals, Shirley worked in the field of graphic arts with a B.F.A. degree in Commercial Art from ECU in 1971. She still enjoys sketching and painting, especially drawings of pets for family and friends, and likes to give the proceeds from her work to various charities and animal rescue groups. She lives in Louisburg with her husband Drennen and her three rescue dogs Toney, Piper, and Gabe. Shirley and Drennen are members of Louisburg Methodist Church and, they both love the quiet life of living in a small community.



  Kim Gaito

Kim has been employed as a receptionist since February 2011. Her love of animals goes back to her childhood where she grew up with horses, dogs, cats a goat and other various pets. She recently moved to the Wake Forest area with her husband & daughter and now lives closer to her son and his family. She is happy to be a part of the WFAH team with all the wonderful clients and their pets.
